Genomics Technologies and Resources for Translational Research
Since the completion of human genome project in 2003, genomics has progressively come to play a central role in basic and translational research. Over the last two decades, numerous genomic technologies, bioinformatics and computational tools have been developed to accelerate the discovery of genomic information and its application in all areas of biomedical research as well as clinical and public health practices.
In this seminar, genomic core facilities and services that are available through CTSI will be introduced. A survey of widely used open-source bioinformatics software will be presented. Issues related to experimental design and sample size in genomic studies will be discussed.
