CTSI Announces Establishment of the IMPACT Center

In preparation for the Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) 4.0 submission, we are delighted to announce the establishment of the CTSI IMPACT (Implementation, Action and Transformation) Center led by CTSI Associate Director for workforce development Octavian (Tavi) Ioachimescu, MD, PhD, MBA. IMPACT is a collaborative operational center designed to act as a powerful translational science catalyst, serving all three components of the mutually learning and effecting ecosystem (research enterprise, community and health systems) fueled by a range of multidisciplinary resources.

As a trans-disciplinary and multi-institutional entity, the IMPACT Center will provide education, support and consultation for various aspects of the continuum of clinical and translational research – from T1 through T5, offering knowledge, operational frameworks and capabilities from a variety of specialties and disciplines, including implementation and dissemination science, quality improvement and management, operations, project management, public health, intervention science, change management and leadership, decision science, design thinking, functional design, data science, communication and marketing science and more.

The primary goal of the IMPACT Center is to advance health for all through accelerating translation of research findings from “bench to bedside” to the community and back to the laboratory in an iterative fashion, by addressing scientific and operational barriers using multidisciplinary and cross-institutional collaborations.
