CTSI Sponsored Panel Discussion – UWM Innovation Park

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is moving forward with plans to build a research facility adjacent to the MCW campus. The UWM Real Estate Foundation has completed the purchase of eighty-nine acres of property in the City of Wauwatosa to develop the UWM Innovation Park for the benefit of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The vision is to create a world class research park for the University at the cutting edge of public/private partnerships nationally. Collaborations by UWM faculty and researchers with other academic institutions and research intensive private sector companies are at the core of this vision. This new facility and its faculty labs will provide outstanding collaboration opportunities for MCW researchers.

The Clinical and Translational Science Institute of Southeast Wisconsin (CTSI) will host a panel discussion in the MCW Alumni Center on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 2:00-3:30pm to discuss opportunities for input and collaboration. The panel will consist of 15 MCW faculty members, as well as Brian Thompson, President of the UWM Research Foundation, David Gilbert, President of the UWM Real Estate Foundation and Doug Stafford, PhD, Director of the Milwaukee Institute for Drug Discovery. There will be a presentation regarding the UWM Innovation Park vision and collaborative partnership opportunities, followed by a discussion. This event will serve as a forum to ask questions and become familiar with the UWM Innovation Park initiative. All MCW faculty and staff are invited to attend.
