Mentored Career Development Program Awards
The overall goal of the Mentored Career Development Program award is to provide training opportunities for junior faculty working in clinical and translational research to become independent investigators. The programs focus on junior faculty with strong potential for careers in clinical and translational research.
Recipients are selected on a competitive basis. The overall goal of this award is to provide training opportunities for investigators working in clinical/translational research to become competitive, independent investigators. The specific objectives are to:
- Encourage research–oriented clinical investigators to develop research skills and gain experience in advanced methods and experimental approaches needed to become an independent investigator conducting clinical/translational research; and
- Support the career development of investigators who have made a commitment to focus their research initiatives on clinical/translational research.

This Award supports the research efforts and career development of junior faculty dedicated to clinical and translational research towards becoming independent investigators focused on the health and well-being of children.
