01 Nov CTSI Offering Virtual Seminar Series on Methods in Grant Preparation
The Clinical & Translational Science Institute of Southeast Wisconsin (CTSI) is offering a virtual seminar series on Methods in Grant Preparation, hosted and directed by Joseph Barbieri, PhD.
Methods in Grant Preparation is a seminar series directed by Joseph Barbieri, PhD and hosted by the CTSI each spring since 2013. This series addresses how to succinctly state overall and specific hypotheses and specific aims with affirmation and relevance. It also suggests specific writing styles with the intent of clearly stating the importance of the specific aims and bringing them to fruition. The series is recommended for faculty, staff, and other individuals who are currently or will be working on one or more grant proposals.
This Series presents advanced principles in grant preparation:
- Match participants to a F-, K-, or R01- NIH grant
- Frequent writing exercises for clarity and purpose
- Defining Innovation, Training, and Significance
- Stating and testing Hypotheses
- Completion of a “Specific Aims Page”

Course registration period: November 1, 2022 – December 27, 2022
The 13-week virtual series will be conducted via Zoom.
