CTSI Offering Virtual Clinical Trialist Training 101

The Clinical & Translational Science Institute of Southeast Wisconsin (CTSI) is pleased to announce the new Clinical Trialist Training 101 Seminar Series addressing foundational level clinical research development and management. The 6-week, virtual series will be conducted via Zoom and starts on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 4:00pm – 5:00pm. Attendees can earn up to six Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits.

The objective of the seminar series is to offer clinicians and new investigators an overview of a wide range of topics with a focus on the development of pharma sponsored clinical trials and investigator initiated research projects.

There will be a special focus on how to initiate pharma sponsored clinical trials addressing topics such as Confidentiality Disclosure Agreement, study initiation, contract management, budget development, coverage analysis, patient enrollment, financial and regulatory management.

In addition, the development of a research idea into a research protocol and finding funding opportunities for investigator initiated studies will be addressed. The discussion will also include the importance of the Institutional Review Board (IRB), how to submit a new human research project for IRB review and how to revise the project in the case of a rejection. Throughout the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the institutional resources offered by the Clinical and Translational Science Institute such as the Adult Translational Research Unit (A-TRU), Pediatric Research Unit (P-TRU) and Clinical Trials Office (CTO) and by MCW (Office of Research and IRB.)
