The MARCH Data and Safety Monitoring board (DSMB) provides independent review of investigator-initiated clinical research to ensure the safety of participants and the validity and integrity of data. The MARCH DSMB operates according to an established charter and is comprised of a core group of individuals, representing each MARCH institution. Board members have expertise in laboratory science, clinical medicine, statistics, epidemiology, and research ethics. Ad hoc members may be added to complement the expertise of the core DSMB members and provide the flexibility to serve the diverse landscape of MARCH research.
