Biostatistical Consulting Mini-grants provide statistical support to investigators on study design, data management, data entry, scannable form development, statistical software usage and analysis. It offers collaboration on the development of Institutional Review Board (IRB) proposals, federal and private grant proposals and Clinical & Translational Science Institute (CTSI) proposals and assistance in using national databases to study important health issues.
Statistical support is provided through two units at the Medical College of Wisconsin and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee:
The Health Systems Unit within the Center for Patient Care and Outcomes Research provides statistical support from the development stage of projects and preparation of grant proposals through the analysis, interpretation, and reporting of quantitative study results, by providing coordinated and efficient statistical support to CTSI Investigators. This Unit will also provide guidance in developing high quality, accurate, and reliable data for analysis, and coordinate sharing of data across different projects. In addition, the Health Systems Unit can develop novel algorithms and information systems for the purpose of discovery and data integration applicable to outcomes research, and develop capacity to use
The Biostatistics Division of the Zilber School of Public Health at University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee provides statistical support for all clinical and population studies to all investigators. Faculty members perform original statistical research in causal inference, measurement error, longitudinal data analysis, data mining, and genomics and bioinformatics. The Division provides statistical consultation for study design, sample size estimation, statistical and bioinformatics/genomic data analysis in basic or clinical/population studies. The Division offers graduate-level statistical courses and collaborates with investigators for grant submission.
