How to submit eBridge FPs & CTSI applications

  • In general, any application for CTSI pilot award program funding opportunities which has an MCW PI or Co-PI must be routed through the MCW Grants & Contracts Office (GCO).
  • The routing mechanism is typically eBridge, the MCW online system for tracking institutional approvals, training and compliance. (In very few cases grant applications will be submitted via paper).
  • Grant applications are entered into eBridge as Funding Proposals (FP).
  • FPs are typically due in the MCW GCO five business days prior to the sponsor’s application deadline.
  • To see how an eBridge FP submission is related to the CTSI online application (within REDCap), download the process map below:

These instructions are current as of August 8, 2017.

How to prepare & submit a Funding Proposal on behalf of a PI

eBridge offers the PI Proxy option for those who would like to assist a PI with the preparation and submission of an eBridge Funding Proposal. Anyone with an eBridge account whose employment platform is through MCW can serve as a PI Proxy.

Note that the proxy option is only available for the Funding Proposal module (so, for example, it does not apply to the IRB module).

The proposal PI must designate a Proxy PI using the instructions below:

  • The PI must login to eBridge and go to the Funding Proposal workspace.
  • On the left-hand side there will be a list of Activities – please select Update PI Proxy
  • Search for the individual you want to be proxy and select that person.
  • The person who is nominated to serve as proxy will receive an email notification and from this email it is necessary to select Respond to Proxy Request and ACCEPT the proxy role.
  • Once accepted, the proxy role is in place and the proxy individual may continue with FP preparation and submission.

These instructions are current as of July 25, 2017.
