Tools & Resources to be Discussed
REDCap – REDCap is a largely self-service application for rapidly building a database, including an intuitive, multi-user web based interface for collecting data via surveys and internal forms.
i2b2 – This tool provides an easy to use, self-service method for MCW researchers to query the i2b2 Clinical & Translational Research Informatics Data Warehouse to answer the question “Does the warehouse contain a cohort of patients with a my specified set of characteristics?”. Search criteria can include patient demographics, ICD coded diagnoses, ICD and CPT coded procedures, laboratory test results, inpatient pharmacy orders and text within clinical documents, including surgical pathology reports and radiology reports.
Image De-Identification Service – Our team provides a service for anonymization of images and a centralized data management resource to support investigators and research studies. The service center has implemented a series of systems that consistently enforce HIPAA regulations for image extracts from PACS, thereby protecting patient confidentiality and allows selective data sharing among collaborators and industry sponsors.
