In order to foster translation of novel inventions to translational practice, the Clinical and Translational Science Institute in collaboration with the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Marquette University, the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Milwaukee School of Engineering and the Biotechnology and Bioengineering Center at MCW are sponsoring an opportunity for faculty, students, and staff to submit their best translational ideas for critique by a panel of experts in engineering and medicine. The panel will be composed of scientists, physicians, and investors who will provide feedback to help focus and refine the proposal with the goal of promoting the invention or innovation for further investment or development. In addition the panel may also provide access to collaborations and resources that will further strengthen and advance ideas to practice.
We encourage interested groups or individuals to submit a one page proposal that includes an explanation of the problem being addressed, a description of the invention or innovation and the progress to date by Monday, January 16th, 2012. Those proposals that are deemed to be the best fit with the CTSI capabilities will be selected for a presentation to the TOP committee in March 2012.
All submissions and subsequent discussions will be completely confidential and all intellectual property rights will be retained by the submitters.
