Passing of Dr. Kotchen

Passing of Dr. Kotchen

It is with great sorrow that we write to inform you that our colleague, friend, and longtime CTSI champion, Dr. Ted Kotchen, passed away on July 6, 2021. We will be forever grateful for his many outstanding contributions that have positioned and continue to sustain our CTSI in its current state of success.

Ted will be sorely missed, but we will continue in his legacy of professionalism and perseverance in serving the CTSI and MCW mission of advancing health through research and discovery.

In 2006, Ted applied and received a planning grant from NIH that enabled us to prepare, submit, and receive the CTSA 1.0 in 2010. He also was the PI and successfully established our KL2 program in CTSA 1.0 and 2.0. In the current CTSA, 3.0, Ted co-led our team science module.

Dr. Kotchen’s contributions to CTSI are unforgettable. His family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
