Purushottam W. “Prakash” Laud, PhD has been named Acting Director of the CTSI Biostatistics Program. Dr. Laud is the Acting Director of the Division of Biostatistics in the MCW Institute for Health and Society and Acting Director of the Biostatistics Shared Resource in the Cancer Center. He succeeds Dr. John Klein, who passed away in July.
Dr. Laud is Professor of Biostatistics in the Institute for Health and Society and the Center for Patient Care and Outcomes Research (PCOR). He earned his PhD at the University of Missouri. Dr. Laud served as faculty and Acting Director of Statistics at Northern Illinois University. In 1994 he joined the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Dr. Laud’s research experience is in Bayesian Statistical Methodology. He recently served as PI of a three year NIH grant to design Bayesian nonparametric methods for comparative effectiveness research.
