CTSI Community Engagement Program Director Named MCW Senior Associate Dean for Community Engagement

Syed M. Ahmed, MD, MPH, DrPH, has been named Senior Associate Dean for Community Engagement at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Ahmed serves as Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and Professor in the Institute for Health and Society, Director of the Healthier Wisconsin Partnership Program, the Director of the Center for Healthy Communities and Research and Director of CTSI’s Community Engagement Program.

In his new role, Dr. Ahmed will provide leadership in improving the health of the communities served by the Medical College through mutually beneficial community partnerships and integration across MCW’s research, education, clinical and community engagement missions. Additionally, he will work with the Dean of the Medical School, Senior Associate Deans, Chairs, Institute/Center Directors and faculty to foster integration of community engagement across MCW’s four missions and will serve as the external representative for MCW’s Community Engagement Mission.
