MSOE SMART Teams Poster Session at MCW

The MCW Cafeteria Lobby was buzzing with activity on the afternoon of Friday, March 9th when over 200 people stopped by to support the 2011-2012 MSOE SMART Teams’ poster session. The excitement was evident as students presented their projects with a variety of MCW faculty, staff and community members. The Teams displayed their posters and prototypes of a variety of proteins. Some of the project topics were “Over the Limit, Under Arrest: The NMDA Receptor and the Effect of Alcohol”, “The Day and Night of Grb2 in Glioblastoma Mutiforme”, “The Guanine Trap” RNA Guanine-tract Recognition and Encaging by hnRNP F quasi-RRM2″ and “Fibrinogen: Nature’s Duct Tape! Transverse Covalent Bonds Create a Stretchy Clot” to name a few.

Tim Herman, PhD, Director, MSOE Center for BioMolecular Modeling shows a protein model to attendees.

Thanks to everyone who supported the event! Don’t forget the SMART Teams will be back at MCW on Saturday, March 17th to give their oral presentations.
