Call for Nominees for Dean’s Award 2017
The Dean’s Award in Clinical & Translational Science was created to recognize MCW faculty and staff who have made a significant contribution to advancing translational science to improve the health of our patients. The Award will be presented at the MCW Convocation Ceremony on September 12, 2017. Please take a moment to nominate a colleague for consideration. Nominations must be submitted by 11:59pm CST on August 18, 2017.
Purpose: To recognize those who have made a significant contribution to advancing translational science, including:
- Investigators who have made a discovery or a breakthrough in Translational Science.
- An individual who has made significant improvements to the research infrastructure and/or to the process of accelerating translational research at MCW to improve the health of our patients.
Definition of Translational Science: Refers to the translation of bench science discoveries, to bedside clinical practice, or dissemination to population-based community interventions. Translational science is the field of investigation focused on understanding and addressing the scientific and organizational challenges underlying each step of the translational process. It focuses NOT on specific diseases, but on what is common among them and the translational science process.
Nomination Process: Candidates for this award can be peer nominated through the form below. Once nominations are submitted, they are automatically routed to candidate’s department chair, chief, or center director for approval.
Mechanism of Award: one Awardee per year will be selected by a Dean’s clinical and translational award committee.
Selection Committee: Prior awardees and ad hoc members.
