CTSI Child Advancement Network & Milwaukee Health Services, Inc. Co-Sponsor Luau Lullaby Community Baby Shower

On May 12, 2019, the CTSI Child Advancement Network (CAN) co-sponsored the Luau Lullaby Community Baby Shower with the Milwaukee Health Services, Inc. (MHSI), a Vroom Brain Building activation partner organization. The event was held at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Heritage Health Center located at 2555 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Drive, with approximately 200 new and expectant mothers and fathers in attendance.

Participants had the opportunity to receive immunizations and various health screenings such as Dental, Mammograms, Cervical Cancer, Lead Testing, Blood Pressure, and Glucose.  Educational sessions included safe sleep, infant mortality, fatherhood involvement, car seat installation, nutrition and breast feeding. CTSI staff provided two Vroom Brain Building Science Cafés focused on brain development information and brain building activities for children ages 0 to 5 years. Mothers and guests were treated to a catered lunch, Vroom related materials, and they were eligible to win prizes such as a baby bed or changing table from several event sponsors. CTSI CAN/Vroom gave away a Vroom baby box filled with baby formula, infant seat belt covers, bibs, and other necessities.

The mission of Milwaukee Health Services, Inc. (MHSI) is to provide accessible, quality, primary and related health care services to Milwaukee residents, and we are thankful we could be part of the Luau Lullaby Community Baby Shower.
