Call for Nominees for CTSI Dean’s Award 2022

The Dean’s Award in Clinical & Translational Research was created to recognize MCW faculty and staff who have made a significant contribution to advancing translational science to improve the health of our patients through research and discovery. The Award will be presented at the MCW Convocation Ceremony on September 15, 2022. Please take a moment to propose a colleague for consideration. Nominations must be submitted by 11:59pm CST on July 19th, 2022.

Purpose: To recognize those who have made a significant contribution to making the currently available patient care better through research and discovery, including:

  • Investigators who have made a discovery or a breakthrough in Clinical & Translational Research
  • An individual who has made significant improvements to the research infrastructure and/or to the process of accelerating translational research at MCW to improve the health of our patients
  • An investigator who designed/conducted impactful clinical trials

Definition of Translational Research

Translational Research refers to the translation of bench science discoveries, to bedside clinical practice, or dissemination to population-based community interventions. Translational science is the field of investigation focused on understanding and addressing the scientific and organizational challenges underlying each step of the translational process. It focuses NOT on specific diseases, but on what is common among them and the translational science process.

Candidates for this award can be peer nominated through the form below.

Mechanism of Award

One Awardee per year will be selected by a Dean’s Clinical and Translational Award Committee comprised of prior awardees and ad hoc members.

Award

This year’s award will be presented at the MCW Convocation Ceremony on September 15, 2022.
